Risk Is Based in Either Love or Fear
We risk the most for what we most love.
We see in this passage how much God was willing to sacrifice for us: God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. (1 John 4:9-10 NLT)
That is why our fifth and final tenet reminds us that the heart of true risk is always love. You can find the first four here (Risk Is Normal & Necessary, Good Risk Pursues the Real, Smart Risk Counts the Cost, Safe Risk Is All In ).
Tenet 5: Risk Is Based in Either Love or Fear
The best and truest risks we will ever take are always based in love rather than fear. It is the purest way for us to measure our motives.
