In a World Fueled by Fear

We now come to the final and highest way to view risk. In a world fueled by fear, God continually and defiantly reminds us that love matters more than anything else. It lasts forever and is greater than even faith or hope.

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal....Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:1,13 NLT)

God doesn’t simply hold up love as a concept. He is love.

We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. (1 John 4:16 NLT)

It would be good to pause and read the earlier two passages again, slower this time. As you do, ask God to reveal the following: are most of the risks you take driven out of a place of love or fear? It’s a simple question that will lead to profound insights.

In closing, I’d like to take a risk and ask for your help in keeping these readings flowing and free for everyone. Will you consider making a financial donation today for this crowd-funded kingdom initiative HERE. For all who can, I’m grateful. It matters more than you imagine.
