Safe Risk Is All In

Being fully committed is clearly important to God. Which brings us to the fourth tenet of risk. You can find the first three here (Risk Is Normal & Necessary, Good Risk Pursues the Real, Smart Risk Counts the Cost ).

Tenet 4: Safe Risk Is All In; Unsafe Risk Keeps All Options Open

It’s fascinating to read the greatest commandment through this lens: And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. (Mark 12:30 NLT)

Notice the use of the word “all” four times. Not love God with some of our heart and part of our soul and a portion of our mind and half of our strength. He requires us to be fully in. That means we could be misunderstood, persecuted, hated, or even killed for our allegiance to God. It may cost us a friendship, our reputation, or even our lives. The stakes are high. The risks are real.

Jesus bluntly describes this reality: No one can serve two masters. The person will hate one master and love the other, or will follow one master and refuse to follow the other. (Matthew 6:24 NCV). And he even offers this warning out of love: If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed? (Luke 9:24-25 NLT)

Which is why the safest risk is to be fully in.

In closing, I’d like to take a risk and ask for your help in keeping these readings flowing and free for everyone. Will you consider making a financial donation today for this crowd-funded kingdom initiative HERE. For all who can, I’m grateful. It matters more than you imagine.
