When Are You an Artist?

Are you an artist when you pick up a brush and start painting, sell your first work, or once your art's in a gallery?

Is a writer an author only when their book is published?

An industry doesn't make artists and authors. It's actually the other way around.

An industry runs on the brilliance of ideas from creatives. And it needs a constant flow of ongoing creativity to survive.

So stop waiting for an industry expert to validate or approve your unique journey of creativity (for more on this, check out my blog Stop Waiting here).

Simply begin and then stay with it. Through the messy unknown. Through the times no one seems to notice. Through the voices that try to silence your voice.

Don’t wait for others to give you a label. Be who you are born to be now.
