What’s Causing Your Setbacks?

When facing setbacks, is your first reaction to blame yourself, others, or God?

We tend to limit our accusations and anger to the above three options. In doing so, we forget a fourth possibility.

We have an enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10)

And in terms of other people, it’s good to remember this: Our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world. (Ephesians 6:12 NCV)

Whatever the enemy is trying to take from you, know this. A skilled thief never sets out to steal something of no value. We’re the ones who tend to undervalue our gifting. Need convincing? How have you interpreted recent setbacks with your creativity? Did you assume it was because you’ve blown it? Or that you just don’t have what it takes? Maybe you’re on the verge of classifying it as a meaningless hobby that requires more time and energy than it’s worth.

It’s actually just the opposite when you’re creating with God.

Your art is under attack because of its immense value. God knows it. The enemy knows it. You need to know it as well. Believe it and create from that place.
