The Missing Piece

In these high-tech times, I’ve recently rediscovered the simple joy of puzzles.

At the end of each day, I spend a few minutes with a 500 or 1,000 piece puzzle. On any given evening, I may only find a few pieces that fit. That’s okay. I love the process of slowly bringing order to the chaos…one piece at a time.

As I say in Chaos Can’t: Some people see a puzzle as a jumbled box of chaos. It’s actually a box of purposeful creation… expertly cut into hundreds of pieces.

It’s a beautiful image, waiting to be made whole again. And we participate in its restoration.

When choosing a puzzle, be purposeful in finding an image that calms your heart or brings you joy. Here’s the puzzle I’m currently working on.

A puzzle is the perfect way to unplug from technology while still engaging your brain. Give it a try. It just might be the missing piece to a more simple rhythm of life.
