The Heart of Your Art

No great art was ever created without great heart.

No great life was ever lived without great heart. Perhaps that’s why God tells us the heart is central to all we are and do.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23 NIV)

Everything you do flows from it.

Some teach that the heart is deceptive above all things (Jeremiah 17:9). They quit reading before hearing the rest of the story. That’s tragic. Because God also said:

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26 NIV)

Imagine what kind of new art you could create from a new heart. It’s exciting to consider. Jesus understands the foundational importance of the heart. He defined his earthly mission by quoting this Scripture from Isaiah:

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives. (Isaiah 61:1 NKJV)

That’s a big thought. Take a moment to let that sink in. Jesus defined his mission as healing our hearts and setting us free.

How free would you say you are? What is the condition of your heart? Nothing matters more...so take time at this level to examine how you are doing in this key area.
