Spirit-Filled Creativity

The Spirit gives us the ability to keep chaos out of our hearts while filling it instead with the fruit of the Spirit. 

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22–23 NLT)
 

And it gets even better. When you align your heart with God, he promises to give you the desires of your heart. 

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4 NIV) 

This means that we no longer have to wait for external circumstances to change or become calm. The calm is already within us. 

Beyond that, we don’t have to strive for the things we desire. God will give them to us. If we start with him. 

Having a heart that’s fully alive changes everything. As I said in yesterday’s reading , no great art has ever been created without great heart. Given that, if your creativity isn’t flowing like it used to, don’t get mad at the canvas. Or at your imagination. Turn your attention to your heart…because everything you do flows from it (Proverbs 4:23).
