The Electric Glow of Human Progress

Progress has led to some wonderful advancements. That’s true. And it’s equally true that all progress doesn’t always make our lives better. And often makes it worse.

Perhaps we should quit making constant updates to our apps and devices and instead get rid of most of them altogether. We certainly don’t seem to be better for having them. I understand their promise of making life easier. But when did a life of ease become the goal—especially with the added baggage of addiction and anxiety that increased screen usage can bring?

Relationship with God is the goal. That comes above everything. And that can only happen as we choose the real over the artificial.

When the electronic glow of human progress gets in the way of that, it must go.
