Superman’s “Last” Story

One of the best Superman comics of all time was written as if it were the “last” Superman story of all time.

In 1986, DC Comics decided to reboot their most popular hero, Superman, with a complete makeover. As a farewell to this earlier era Superman, they created a two-part finale titled Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? It dared to imagine the end of Superman’s story. And it began with these words: "This is an Imaginary Story…aren't they all?"

This approach freed the writer from current comic continuity in ways that led to an emotive, daring, wildly unpredictable tale. One that has stood the test of time.

What if you viewed your current project as the last one? How would it be different if you dared to create it with no constraints or worries about what came next?

Now that you know, infuse all your creations with this lasting difference.
