Has Your Gifting Been Stolen

Let’s begin with an observation: the more chaotic life becomes, the less creative we are. At least until we understand what’s really going on and take action.

It seems like our gifting is being stolen from us . . . because it is.

How does that statement make you feel? Does this loss sound significant or like something of low importance in the midst of a raging storm? I mean, when everything is going wrong, should our creativity really make the top-ten list of what matters? At a time when chaos makes its presence known in every area of our lives, is a decreased creative desire a big deal? Should we just set those dreams aside until things calm back down?

No. Never.

Our creativity is immensely important. The loss of it during chaotic times isn’t an unintended or ancillary consequence. It is a major target. We have an enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). And a skilled thief never sets out to steal something of no value.

The enemy is trying to steal your creative gifting. Because it is of great value.

The war against the Creator and creation that has been going on since before the beginning is still in motion, and your creativity has a role to play in winning the war. That is why you are being targeted and the enemy wants to throw chaos at your creativity. Don’t underestimate its value.
