Realm of Influence
God is the boundless, limitless Creator.
We are his sons and daughters, invited to co-create with him. God is the boundless, limitless Creator.
We are his sons and daughters, invited to co-create with him.
But—and I hope this doesn’t burst anyone’s bubble— we are not limitless in our creative ability or gifting. No one person receives it all. The world’s greatest singer isn’t the world’s greatest architect or actor or chef. God infuses each of us with unique interests and talents. Creativity flourishes best when everyone is able to offer their part of the puzzle.
And interestingly, those who do have an abundance of talents often accomplish less than one with a very specific gift. Why? Because they dabble in a variety of things without ever going deep in any of them.
In addition, none of us have been given limitless ability to change the atmosphere everywhere.
We each are given a specific realm of influence and authority. Our home. Our children. Our job. Our creativity. In addition, God often gives us specific missions and when he does, he goes before us, with us, and beyond us to fulfill his purposes.
When we walk with God in these areas, we can change our world for good.
As more and more people change their realm for good, more of the world changes for good.
But if you try to come against chaos in ways that God hasn’t authorized or empowered you to do, you can get shredded. You can, to quote a line from The Mask of Zorro movie, fight bravely and die quickly.
The atmosphere you are able to change is only in the areas of authority you’ve been given.
That is not limiting. It is focused.
There are countless others who have authority in areas you don’t. As they walk in their gifting and presence, they’ll have remarkable results. There’s more than enough for each of us to do in our own realms. You can make a tremendous difference…if you are present and prepared.
