More Valuable Than Wisdom

I tend to call out to God only after I’ve exhausted every effort trying to overcome my own icebergs. Not a smart strategy. Kind of like driving through the car wash with my window down.

I’m learning anew the value of asking for God’s wisdom on the front end.

Wisdom begins with respect for the Lord, and understanding begins with knowing the Holy One. (Proverbs 9:10 NCV)

But it’s not just wisdom we’re after. It’s the joy of doing life with God.

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4 NIV)

When we start with God, he gives us wisdom. But he also gives us something far more valuable: himself. That’s why he is the only one worthy to be the sage in our journey.
