Greater Intimacy or Isolation?
The emergence of the new generations of AI will challenge our concept of reality in unprecedented ways we can’t fully fathom.
AI, of course, stands for Artificial Intelligence. But the initials could now mean Active and Intimate, since the growing focus is how to make AI more human. That’s not a good thing. But whatever fake intimacy AI tries to offer, it is mostly isolating. And Scripture reminds us where isolation leads: A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment. (Proverbs 18:1 NKJV)
Don’t miss this insight. The current technological wave is toward artificial intimacy. This never leads to true relationship but simply the illusion of intimacy. We know this because the more addicted we are to our screens, the more isolated we become. The false never leads to the real. The artificial never offers greater intimacy. It is a sophisticated, high-tech façade.
No longer is AI about information or just making your life easier. The battle is for intimacy. Who or what will you be most fascinated by, look to for answers, and spend the most time with? Things are accelerating in this world of unreality...and whichever agent gets to have that primary intimacy relationship in your life will win.
