Create It True

Your creativity can take a million different forms.

But if it reflects the Creator, it will be true. Because God is true.

There is great freedom in pursuing your creativity in this manner, because it shifts the focus from man-made rules to creating like the Creator.

Sometimes overfamiliarity with a story can cause us to not see what’s there…or not there. That’s certainly true about the Creation account in Genesis.

We know what God created. But did you notice that in the midst of the most diverse offering of creativity ever, there was one common attribute to everything created? Trueness.

God didn’t create Christian mountains, Christian oceans, or Christian elephants. He created each of these in absolute trueness. Here is what a mountain means. Here is what an ocean is. Here is elephant.

May we create the same way. In trueness.

What gets in the way of trueness is a label. Once we label something, we limit it. Usually unconsciously, but as soon as we categorize a person or a process or an art form, we expect compliance within a set of man-made rules and expectations. That’s not how God created.

If you want to co-create with God, follow his lead and make sure you create it true.
