What If No One Likes It?

How do you interpret the rejection of your creative efforts?

Consider two scenarios.

It could simply mean your creation wasn’t meant for that person. That’s okay…and normal. All of us are drawn to certain types of movies, music, and art. And not to others.

Or...it could be that you and your gifting are under construction. If so, stay patient. Perhaps you need to live more first. Or learn how to pursue your creativity more actively and intimately with God. Maybe you need to release your expectations for how or when things must happen. God may be initiating and refining you for a larger kingdom assignment. Because you aren’t ready...yet.

The first scenario requires grace for the other person. The second scenario—grace for yourself.
