Now, Next, Not Yet

When you’re invited to attend a special event, you don’t rush out the door when you open the invitation. Timing is everything. 

The same is true with opportunities God invites you into. 

Sometimes the moment is now. As with Esther, the opportunity is for such a time as this (Esther 4:14).

Other times, he offers advance insights into what’s coming. So you can prepare. It’s not now. But next.

And then there are the times, despite your desires, the answer is “not yet.” In these moments, it’s helpful to remember that “not yet” isn’t the same as “not ever.” 

It’s good to know the difference between the three. Timing is everything.
