Mission Impossible…Made Possible

In the book of Exodus, we’re given a glimpse into how God infuses people with creativity.

Have you ever heard of Bezalel? His name isn’t likely to make the short list of best baby names. But perhaps it should. The name means “in the protection or shadow of God.” Moses wrote that God called Bezalel, who was of the tribe of Judah, by name and then filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and in all craftsmanship.

Let that sink in. God called him by name. He extended a personal invitation: “Hey, Bezalel. I have a big project for you. It will stretch your creativity in ways you can’t imagine.”

You can imagine things quickly shifted from intimate to intimidating for Bezalel. Because the invitation was for something beyond him. The invitation required initiation.

It was beyond him. But not up to him. God then filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and in all craftsmanship. God gives him mission impossible and then makes it possible. It isn’t about Bezalel coming through while God watches with his arms crossed. It is the Creator inviting and empowered us to co-create with him.

If today’s reading resonated, help keep this crowd-funded initiative free with a financial donation here (or by check to Allen Arnold at PO Box 62841, Colorado Springs, CO 80962). For all who can, I’m grateful. Your support matters more than you imagine.
