Masking Your Emptiness

The more accelerated your life gets, the more tempting it is to measure who you are by what you do. That’s a trap.

An excess of outward busyness tries to mask inward emptiness. Look at all you’re getting done. Regardless of the cost, that’s got to be a good thing…right?

Not always. Using external metrics to measure success almost always fails to measure what matters most. But the busier you stay, the less you notice. For a time.

God desires your internal transformation and presence over any external performance. It’s counterintuitive but doing less is often the first step to being more.

“Doing things for God is the opposite of entering into what God does for you.” (Galatians 3:11-12 The Message)
