Let Us Make

The Creator of everything—from  light, stars, and ocean to forest, plants, and animals—didn’t create alone. We see the presence of the Spirit in Genesis 1:2 and we know that everything was created through and for Christ and that he holds all creation together (Colossians 1:16-18).

As creation progresses to its culmination, notice these words from God: “Let us make human beings in our image and likeness.” (Genesis 1:26 NCV).

Before your thoughts rush ahead to what comes next, stay with these words: “Let us make.”

There’s no better way to enter into your creativity than together with God. So instead of saying, “I’m going to write or paint or compose,” proclaim this as you begin: “God, let us make…”

Because we were not made to create alone.
