Keep It Simple

Humans complicate things. God simplifies.

Jesus used parables rather than complex algorithms to explain the kingdom of God. He showed how all the teachings of the Law and the Prophets came down to just two things. Love God. Love Others. (Matthew 22:37-40)

Paul says this about keeping it simple: But I am frightened, fearing that in some way you will be led away from your pure and simple devotion to our Lord, just as Eve was deceived by Satan in the Garden of Eden. (2 Corinthians 11:3 TLB)

Pure and simple. That’s how God invites us to approach all of life…including our creativity.

When we feel stuck, it’s a sign we’re making it harder than it has to be. The next time that happens, pause and invite God into the moment. Remember, he gave us our desires and talents as an invitation to pursue them together with him. Not to complicate things.

So stay expectant, follow his lead, and keep it simple.
