How Does God See You?

How do you think God sees you right now?

Go ahead, pick one word that you feel best describes his view of you. Be honest.

Did you choose the word masterpiece

God did.

For we are God’s masterpiece. (Ephesians 2:10 NLT)

When we hear the word “masterpiece,” we often think of something formal. A classic statue that’s been roped off or a framed piece of art in a museum. But that’s not how God views us. He didn’t create us to be static. Or stuck on a wall. A relic that creates a sense of importance without being relevant to daily life.

As God’s masterpiece, we are being re-imagined and re-shaped for such a time as this. Not to be tucked away like our grandmother’s fine china. But to impact the world in powerful ways.

If that sounds too good to be true, take a look at the rest of the verse: He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:10 NLT)

We are created anew to be new people who create new things. Not in our own strength but in Jesus. Not for our own glory but to reflect his glory. To shimmer with his light. To engage in good works today that he planned for us long before time began.

That’s quite the invitation. And it begins with seeing yourself as God sees you.
