Don’t Wait For Calm

We often blame ourselves for the problems and chaos in life. But what if the problem isn’t primarily you? Sure, we all do dumb things and make mistakes. In that sense, we can sabotage our own life. But if there’s more at play, wouldn’t it be helpful to know what that is?

We have an enemy set on our destruction. Out to kill, steal, and destroy us in every way—including our creativity. Remembering that helps us see the chaos around us with new eyes.

You may be in the middle of a chaos storm right now. It can feel like you’re in over your head. That little in life makes sense. And that there’s no way through it. In these moments, the outside chaos will try to get inside you.

Resist it. We can’t overcome chaos with more chaos. Outshouting others never works. Division never unites. Rage never restores.

It’s also a mistake to passively wait for things to calm down. That isn’t likely in this season. But we can stay calm as the world unravels by grounding our wellbeing in God and God alone. That’s the first step—to shift our gaze from the shaking chaos to our unshakable Creator.
