Create as New Creations
As new creations, we have no reason to keep pursuing our creativity in old, formulaic ways.
In case you’re curious, here are just a few ways God has made us new.
We’ve been given a new heart: I will give you a new heart—I will give you new and right desires—and put a new spirit within you. I will take out your stony hearts of sin and give you new hearts of love. (Ezekiel 36:26 TLB)
We also have a completely renewed way to think. Paul states it plainly: We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16 NIV) Paul also offers this: Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. (Romans 12:2 NLT)
Our once-blind eyes have been opened and ears unclogged: For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes…But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. (Matthew 13:15-16 NIV)
This isn’t simply an increase in our regular senses—like Superman experienced under Earth’s sun with his enhanced ability to see and hear through walls. Our upgrade is far superior.
We have been recreated and transformed by God. We are completely new creations.
Now we just need to start creating as new creations.
Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better. Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good. Clothe yourself with this new nature. (Ephesians 4:23-24 TLB)
