Beware the Bright Shiny Object

We’re born into Story 2. It was never the story God intended for us. And though most see it as normal, it is filled with distracting bright and shiny objects that consume our attention and keep us from Story 1. 

So we spend our days focused on things like who got the office promotion, why we weren’t invited to a social event, which team won the game, where the family vacation will be, and what the nightly news says matters. We won’t remember any of it a few days later but at that moment, the bright shiny objects seem all-important. 

That’s the enemy’s strategy, you know. To get us riled up over Story 2 issues while he steals what matters most right out from under us. The key isn’t to better manage our time in Story 2. It’s to get out of Story 2.
