At Peace With the Partial

Silent Night is a beautiful song. But “all is calm” likely didn’t describe the first Christmas night. Nor does it likely reflect the state of our homes or hearts heading into Christmas.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the constant demands on our time, attention, and money in these final days before December 25th. So release the expectation that everything must get done. It won’t. And that’s okay. Everything isn’t equal.

The art of soul care involves regularly saying "no" to many things so you can say "yes" to the people and projects that matter most. So this Christmas, take the pressure off of yourself and those you love. Getting it all done isn't a realistic option. But it is possible to be fully present when it counts.

It’s the best way to usher in what we could all use more of this week. A dose of Christmas calm.
