The One Who Knows You Best

Your primary identity is a son or daughter of God.

The world didn’t give you that identity–which means it can’t take it from you. It doesn't have the right to re-name, redefine, or limit you. Unlike a name or title the world gives, your primary identity can never be lost, stolen, or downgraded.

You also can’t lose it yourself.

Yes, we all miss the mark. We sin. We make really bad choices. But what we’ve done never limits who we can become. Not if we repent and enter back into union with God.

“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again…” (Proverbs 24:16 NIV)

Take a moment today to listen to Jonathan and Melissa Helser’s song “I Am Your Beloved.” As you do, let this lyric wash over you: “The One who knows me best is the One who loves me most.”

It’s time to stop asking the world for validation. Instead, look to your Father who knows you best and loves you most. Then from that identity, rise again.
