The Long Game

When we’re young, life is all about this moment. Right now. There’s little patience for later. Our focus is limited to whatever’s in front of us.

It’s playing the short game.

Over time, most discover reality doesn’t align with—or reward us—for this approach. Staying up late watching movies may feel great in the moment. But oversleeping the next morning and being late for class or work…not so much.

God invites us to see life differently. To give up the short game for something far better…the long game.

Doing so allows our decisions to be based in his wisdom rather than the whirlwind of the moment. And that’s key—because God’s goal isn’t efficiency but transformation.

The short game always gets you somewhere fast, not somewhere better. Instead choose to play the long game for what matters—with God, your friends, your family, and your creativity. It's committing to a life-long journey with God that takes you from who you are to who you’re becoming.
