Redeeming Your Story

We’re drawn to movies and novels where the protagonist experiences great adventure, romance, and purpose. Our story can seem insignificant compared to that.

But we have a story. And it matters. We know our past…but often miss how to interpret our larger story with God. We know the “what” of an event but often miss the “why.” We see little hope ahead. We think time is short. We’re tempted to downsize our dreams. Yet we have no idea what the next chapter holds or how God is preparing us for it…right now.

The answer isn’t to diminish our story. It’s to pursue it with God and without presuming the outcome. It’s staying expectant for what’s possible while releasing expectations for how it will play out. It’s trusting God with the pace, flow, and meaning of the days of our lives.

He created us for such a time as this. He has numbered our days. He is always with us. And with him, all things are possible.

This particular chapter you’re in might not be your favorite. Even so, stay expectant. There’s no better storyteller than God. And he has infinite ways to rescue, restore, and redeem your story.
