Live Free. Create Free.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1 NIV)
Jesus came to set us free. When asked to define his mission, he quoted this passage from the book of Isaiah:
The Spirit of the Lord, the Eternal, is on me. The Lord has appointed me for a special purpose. He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to repair broken hearts,
And to declare to those who are held captive and bound in prison, “Be free from your imprisonment!” (Isaiah 61:1 VOICE)
But sometimes we don’t live like it. Or create like it.
A creation can only be as free as its creator. Art meant to indoctrinate is the least free of all.
When we go our own way, untethering ourselves from the Creator, we lose both creativity and freedom. We trade imagination that transcends us (Jeremiah 33:3) for indoctrination that controls us. The end result is both heavy-handed and hardhearted.
We were created to be free. And to create in freedom. Never give that up.
