Escape the Echo Chamber
The world demands we align with whatever agenda the entertainment, business, educational, and political leaders hold up as important. We’re told to veer from that script is to risk having our voices silenced.
But actually, just the opposite is true. Our voices become stronger when we escape the echo chamber of popular opinion and begin to speak words with an eternal spark.
Given the state of this world, now would be a good time to start. Without question, it’s the specific time God created us for. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. (Acts 17:26 NIV).
This is our time. Within it, we have the choice whether to use our voice for good or go silent. Esther revealed the power of one voice to change the destiny of a nation. Adam, on the other hand, went silent during the temptation in Eden. Because of that choice, he seems to have lost his voice and his place in the story. Though he lived 930 years, we don’t hear from Adam after his forced exit from Eden.
In a world where everyone seems to be reading from the same hopeless script, may our voices be a force of good. Through who we are, what we do…and, yes, what we say.
