Doing Things For God
We can know a lot about God and still miss pursuing our talents and dreams with him.
Our gifting isn’t primarily for us to do things for God, hoping to earn God’s favor or prove our worth from what we do. That’s conditional creation.
Our gifting is an invitation for us to pursue what we love with God out of a place of joy and expectancy…with no guarantee but God’s presence. That’s relational creation.
May we never get so busy doing things for God that we miss what’s he’s doing for us. Whatever it is, you can be certain his focus is more on intimacy than efficiency.
Doing things for God is the opposite of entering into what God does for you. (Galatians 3:12, The Message)
