Clarity In Your Anointing

It’s fine to have a lot of hobbies and casual interests—but you don’t want to spend your life forever dabbling in many areas without fully mastering any.

The higher goal is to find your unique anointing from God. I’m talking about what he purposely knit into your being before birth. When you discover and pursue it, you draw nearer to God. As do those who later experience your creations.

So how do you bring greater clarity to what you were born to create? One way is to ask God for three words to describe the passion and focus he infused within you. Knowing this helps you stay on track with your gifting…even as it plays out in various ways.

My three words—Story, God, and Creativity—flow through everything I do including my books, speaking, coaching calls, and daily readings. My logo incorporates those words and the swoosh reflects imagery and colors that stir my heart. The blue green swoosh represents a free-flowing ocean wave. The gold within reflects kintsugi, symbolizing how Jesus heals the brokenhearted and sets the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). These three words maximize rather than limit my playground.

Ask God to provide three words that best describe the anointing he’s given you. Don’t assume you know. Ask him. Then watch how these words help guide and flow through all your creativity!
