Can Your Mind Be Hacked?

Yuval Noah Harari of the World Economic Forum recently made this stunning statement about using technology to control others—and his view of the reality or supremacy of God: “We have reached the point when we can hack not just computers; we can hack human beings and other organisms.... Humans are now hackable animals. The whole idea that humans have this soul or spirit and they have free will and nobody knows what’s happening inside me so whatever I choose, whether in the election or the supermarket, this is my free will—that’s over.”

It is the Tree of Knowledge being played out all over again. With the desire to play god and control through power and knowledge. Except it will never work. Rest in this. As believers, we have the mind of Christ. And the mind of Christ cannot be hacked by human technology.

Here’s how the Apostle Paul puts it: Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:15-16 NLT)

We are not hackable animals. We are sons and daughters of God. We have free will. And we are offered the mind of Christ. The artificial will never be able to hack that.

One last thought. If today’s reading resonated, take a moment now to email or share it with a fellow creative, friend or family member who could use the encouragement.
